Hello. I'm in the Pacific Northwest. I worked as a computer programmer for a company that went out of business, then worked on some personal projects, and now want to be self-employed. I have a lot of pre-AI business ideas, but I'm now trying to reevaluate them given how much has changed.
Previously, I wanted to sit at home and write mobile apps all day. The goal would be to have a large catalog of apps, each earning a small amount of money. I've had similar thoughts about developing PC games and websites. The idea is to make a lot of little bets and be able to monitor my progress. Now that I actually have the time to work on a business, I am reviewing all my old ideas. I tend to want to invent things, which is probably a weakness. As I read through a lot of the forum posts, it seems like execution is a lot more important than inventing something. I was using ChatGPT to go over thoughts about what I should work on, but it seemed to just tell me the current idea was the best idea.
Once I figure out what to work on, I look forward to immersing myself in it.
