My name's Johnny, turning 26 in a couple of months and currently working 9-6 on a 60k salary (mid-weight digital designer). Just finished reading the book and really pumped and excited to start something / learn more!
I have a rather long winded background — I graduated from uni in 2009 with a Bachelor Business Information Systems, and have about 3 years experience in the I.T industry doing systems analysis, information architecture, and a little account management. In 2012 I decided to switch to design and did a 3 month intensive and was freelancing by 2013 (a highlight was working on the MONA app). As of October last year I've been working full time at one of the top design studios in Melbourne which is where I am now. I also have a small business management short course under my belt for what that's worth. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I guess the impetus for this came from the fact that I'm basically at my 'dream job', doing what I love; but still feeling unfulfilled, restless and that my time is not balanced (too much time spent at work, not enough time doing the other things I love). I think I've always had an entrepreneurial streak in me and have read books on the subject in my spare time throughout the years; I'm ready to put some action to those inclinations!
I guess what I'm looking for is a little guidance on the fastlane options that might suit me; and the ones I might have a head-start/competitive advantage in given my skill-set and background. That being said I don't mind at all if the direction I head has absolutely no correlation to design at all (I'm ready to separate income from my own selfish needs haha).
I think my weaknesses would be in crunching financial numbers and probably also idea validation, the idea of outsourcing/payroll kinda freaks me out too; so any advice on getting comfortable with that stuff would be great!
