Hi,
I've read Fastlane twice and I will read it again. Love the book. There's so much to take in and digest. MJ has really inspired me and made me think a lot about my journey and I appreciate his insights and no BS attitude. I will read Unscripted next.
I'm a 45 year old BSc qualified construction industry professorial with 20 years experience. Around 18 months ago I decided that there must be more to life than doing a job i no longer enjoyed and in fact was causing me anxiety and stress. I have always felt that i should be involved in buying and selling something and working for myself.
I watched loads of youtube videos and decided try self publishing and eventually selling products online mainly through amazon. I have had some success with my books and it has spurned me on.
One thing has occurred to me though-I don't really have control-Amazon does and it can change things for me overnight. My books (and my future products) 'business' now seems to have no concrete foundation which worries me somewhat.
What are peoples views on this? Should i consider this business model as just being 'a start' with a view to selling my products through my own website (clearly amazon has lots of potential customers/traffic whereas id be starting from scratch with zero visitors.
Also I'd like to ask the group about their views on business / entrepreneur mentorship/ Is it worthwhile? Should I consider looking for one? How much are they?
Thanks! and best wishes.
