Hi folks,

I have read MJ's book and I found it really motivating. I have also spent some time reading some very interesting contributions in the forums and now I finally decided to become active.

I am a 33 years old Electronics Engineer, currently on a long paternity leave from my job in Germany and living in Argentina. I am in a difficult situation with my wife which will most probably end up in a divorce and I have to find a way of supporting myself and my daughter in this country if I want to be able to see her grow up. This will mean of course quitting my job and finding something to do here, what exactly is still pretty much unclear for me.

Argentina is as you may well know in a very complicated situation. Inflation is uncontrolled, borders are closed for mostly all imports (even small letters send by mail are getting lost forever in customs) and the country's future is very uncertain. Add to this that I'm a foreigner (although I do speak native level Spanish) without a work permit, which as many locals have told me makes me a perfect candidate for being ripped off if I try to start any kind of business in the country.

So as I see it right now, my only option is to start some kind of online business which doesn't imply physically moving any goods (import/export is out of the question) and where I get paid in some kind of hard currency. I have little experience in web development and marketing; I consider I could learn the basics pretty fast but the question still remains about what to do exactly. I need to be able to generate some kind of income relatively fast as I'm already spending my savings and if I can't do that I will eventually have to either apply for some kind of low-paying job in the country or return to my job in Germany.

I look forward to participating actively in the forum and I will let you know about my progress in this quest. Any advice or tips will of course be highly appreciated.

Cheers!
