Hello fellow business people,
Just joined the forum. Have not read the books.
Wished I found this forum about 12 years ago when i started my own business.
I am in the service sector, started with carpet cleaning and found
that it was a very crowded field to be playing in where customers felt
comfortable trying to set prices.
I added tile and grout restoration, then natural stone restoration.
I had been in business about 2 years and the money was still not good.
I added epoxy coating installation and things were better. The
size of the average job money wise was much better. I didn't have
to go into peoples homes and there was a ton less competition to drive
down prices.
Wanted to grow the company but I could not hire someone who could
free me from being on the truck. So I stayed small and it was OK but
it was not where I wanted to be. Now I am at the point of wanting to
sell the business and needed some ideas about the best way to do it.
I did talk to a business broker and he said because there is not
an income stream from repeat customers the business will be hard
to sell for any decent amount to money.
I will peruse the forum and/or start a thread to ask just that question.
Nice meeting you !
