...to find a web designer? I'm in need of finding a good designer and I'm somewhat low on funds. I'm open to recommendations if you have any.

I haven't used Rentacoder.com, but I've used guru.com and elance.com. They both are good. Hope that helps.

i've used for portions of my site (backend coding) ... with the exeption of 2 individuals..i've had great luck.

i've even told one coder i'd like to make him my "main guy" for when i need stuff done.

i have also used elance but was also recommended rent a coder from a well known internet marketer, so it can't be too bad.

like all these services, just be sure to read profiles, reviews, etc...

most will provide examples of their work and other details.

i've had nothing but good experience thus far with elance and have found
a number of good designers on there.

also try out tom - aptohosting - they offer competitive rates
adn do good work as well.
