Since we have all seen the omicron variant how viral spread can be, I would like to start here a discussion of exponential growth in our companies.
As most of you know, exponential growth is a rapid spread of something.
Notice that 2 is far from 10 doubles out of 1,000, and 1,000 is far from 10 doubles out of a million.
Dropbox is an example of a company that has created an infrastructure that allows it to grow exponentially.
People send each other the files, and so Dropbox spreads like a virus.

What do you think is the key to exponential growth: is it the idea itself, the customer service, the product itself, a combination of everything together?

Math and action. You need to be working within a framework that has good math, and you need to work your @$$ off to take action on it as often and quickly as possible.

Can you elaborate more on what is meant by math?
Sounds interesting.

have you read Unscripted ? MJ details this.

Basically, you can work hard within bad math (your own time for $) or within good math (units for $ or other people's time for $, for example).

If the equation is good, you can keep pumping the equation. If the equation is bad, it is capped off somewhere.

More examples:
- how big is the market? How big could you expect to get?
- what does it cost to add a customer? What's the potential revenue and profit of a new customer?
- how fast can you add more locations, more customers, or more products?
- is there something simple you can iterate on to keep growing? What does your growth depend on?

If you can sign up 2, 5, or 20 customers all at the same time, that is exponential, not linear. If you must wait 1 year for each iteration, that is linear. If you can open 1 location now, 3 locations in 5 years, and 10 locations in 10 years, that is exponential.
