Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to do a quick introduction coming off the read of the FLM book. Since I've dabbled with a few businesses (MLMs, a partner in a health-club that went under, all sorts of internet marketing), reading FLM made me want to smack my head with shame in not having this guidance years ago.
I come from an IT background, data-related areas (DBA, business intelligence) mostly. The last few years I've worked more in the data science areas - predictive analytics, statistical analysis, econometrics, optimization and the like - which is a passion of mine.
I'd like to engage with other FLM devotees along the lines of using data science within a established industry and finding a niche or efficiency in which data science would pose enough of a barrier to entry to limit competition (or possibly a patentable scenario to limit competition). Genscape is an example of a company doing this (collecting data in the power and fuels industries to re-sell to traders).
