Google has recently launched video units for AdSense advertisers -- this allows you to place YouTube videos on your site with a media player; the media player has ads above and below the player.
Is this worth it for those who are engaged in AdSense?
Unless I'm reading the terms incorrectly, NO.
I assumed that revenue was earned on each video playback while in fact, revenue is only earned when ads are clicked in the player (those are located above and below the video itself.)
So I will pass on the new "video units". It seems like a huge waste of website real estate which nowadays commands a high price.
