Good Design can increase the longevity of a website.

Hey I wanted to share an experience I recently had. I was reading a Smashing Magazine book about Art Direction for the web. The book introduced me to Trentwalton.com.
This website is clearly beautifully designed. It has attention to detail down to every bone.

One of the pages stuck out to me. It's bold design, and nice use of whitespace. It looked so modern and cutting edge.

Then, I checked the time stamp: 2009! That seems anything but modern. Most websites are updated once every two years. Some of the best brands change their designs every 6 months.

So I decided to take a peek with the way back machine.

I discovered, that the page has been updated slightly, but largely, it has remained the same.
I think this illustrates powerfully, the power of good design. Good design will increase the longevity of content by years.
