Now I dont want to start a fight between Christians and everyone else, but for you Christians... Do you pray for your businesses and tithe? I am a big believer in this as my mother and stepdad began tithing and really trying to follow a more christian path about 7-8 years ago. Neither of the were in great shape financially. My mom had an interior design business making 30-80k per year and my stepdad started an internet company.

He was used to about a 250-300k income when something bad happened. The largest investors' son decided he would move to California and not work but still wanted a salary. My stepdad, the CEO, said that the son could kiss his a$$ and it was not happening. All of a sudden my stepdad's income got cut by the board to about 60k per year after his child support from previous marriges was deducted out. They were living in a million dollar house and loosing thousands per month at this new crap income level.

They were always Christians. It is not like they found god and something miraculous happened. But they did make a turn in his direction. What happens next is amazing to me.

They decided to begin tithing portions of their incomes even though they were sucking down their savings little by little and would probably have to move.

My mom got a few new clients who wanted total home makeovers and was able to subcontract all of the work and make a few hundred thousand just about 6 months later.

My stepdad's company sold to a much larger company and he was able to maintain a 12% ownership level in a now FAR more valuable company.

Today:

My stepdad's company is for sale and investment bankers are looking for between 40-100 million for it.

My mom turns clients away that are worth less than about 20k because she does not have the time in the day to work on it.

It looks to me like some amazing things happened in their life and the time when they began tithing was really when the turnaround happened.

So now for me:

I am running my energy aggregation and buyers market facilitation. I have not closed a sale in 3 weeks, feeling like crap I decide to donate all of my last sale. I prayed about it. Nothing happened. I went out for a beer with a friend feeling sorry for myself and he tells me his dad is the budget manager for an institution that has a 1.3 million dollar per year utilities budget and could likely get him to discuss this with me. I can normally undercut ANYONE so being able to have this discussion in the first place will more than likely lead to the close. Nothing this good has just happened like this! I have been skating along at moderate income and then the day I tithe THIS HAPPENS. All I can say is WOW, I really do believe in this.

I also had just on Wednesday landed a new partnership that would be capable of handling a deal of this size, no problem.
