So. This is less of a question about how something will work, but rather, how would you progress?

My thoughts from the ground level:
1. Start with idea/concept
2. Analysis of target market size
3. If target market is acceptable, build lists, start probing market for viability of concept. If possible, begin funding for dev.
4. Concept works! Fund legal CYA.
5. Build minimum viable product.
6. Launch
7. Analyze launch and product feedback and adjust accordingly.

Are there any pieces I am missing? Is there anything you would do sooner and/or rearrange? I have already tackled the first two, and I am about to start step 3.

Thoughts?

I like it. Step three should probably absorb the most of your time -- try to find some other people in the industry to chat with. Also step three may help you improvise the narrow in on the specifics of your idea / concept.

Follow up question:

Focusing on step 3 specifically, are there specific questions that should be asked? Should it be approached like Dane Maxwell (aka, find the pain)? To me, that seems more like a step 1, so I am not 100% sure what I should be looking for in terms of dev.
