How does this relate to Fastlane / Slowlane? A job and the illusion of its security is the institution ... some of us have become institutionalized to a job and all it supposedly represents while others seek roads that have the power to converge with dreams.

Amen. I am reminded of a quote in the movie Con Air by the con played by Steve Buschemi:

What if I told you insane was working fifty hours a week in some office for fifty years at the end of which they tell you to piss off; ending up in some retirement village hoping to die before suffering the indignity of trying to make it to the toilet on time? Wouldn't you consider that to be insane?

Funny you bring this scene up MJ! My dad has watched this movie several times (with me a few times) and I remember him telling me that this was how he felt at his job after 20+ years of factory work. He would tell me, that is all he knows and he will do it until he his old until he is probably about dead. Then tell me, don't go down the same path I have because it isn't a fun one!

He recently got laid off....which I think was an eye opening experience for him. I can tell right now, he is a bit lost as far as how to manage his time during the day and how to stay productive.
