Hello everyone,
I first read The millionaire fastlane in 2018 when I was 20 years old. At that time I was working as a wildland firefighter and loving it. Hard work building my body and experience for my dream career. Every word in the book resonated with me but I loved fighting fire. I decided that firefighting wasn’t fast lane but it was so much fun I didn’t care. 8 years later I’m now a structure firefighter at a busy FD. It’s fun. I love it. Still do cool stuff on the daily. It’s just that I’m tired. Im tired of not having control of my income. I have a few people in my family that I feel a little bit responsible for (no kids). I don’t mind the responsibility I’m glad it’s happening. It’s pulled me out of my comfort zone. It’s motivated me to look for income elsewhere. I’m worried for my family members but Its now my responsibility to get them a retirement. Thats what driving me. I’m so happy I’m in this position because It’s driving me to be better. Also, I’m tired of hearing the guys at the firehouse complain about the pay. Im tired of hearing the complaints that our next contract with the city won’t be good enough. I’m tired of caring about that kind of stuff. I know there’s only so much we can make here and no one’s ever gotten rich from firefighting. All this has driven me to return back to TMF . So anyways thanks for having me.
