hold up, can we enter more than once?

ROFLOL
1. The rules don't specifically say only one entry per person.
2. I was just increasing my odds - if it was allowable, LOL (all part of creating a plan, taking action and evaluating?)
3. Worst case scenario: I have contributed along the way, and become more familiar with more FL posts and helped MJ accomplish his goal for having tags entered.

Kerry congratulations for exposing this opportunity in the contest and showing the value of "Thinking Out of The Box" ... all your entries will remain as entries because you THOUGHT OUT OF THE BOX!!!!!!

Now for the rest of you ... Do you see what "limited" confined thinking does? It closes off opportunity and hides what really is there. It forces you into prescribed modes of thinking. The natural, predisposition was to "assume" that there is only one entry per person based on the odds I laid forth. However, I never specifically set up that rule -- your mind put that rule there and drew conclusions. (Almost reminds me how Kirk beat the "never been beat" examination at Starfleet Academy)

Now that the lesson has been exposed -- the person who exposed it gets to benefit with multiple entries.

Starting now, only one entry per person. Kerry's entries remain.

kerry- enter 74 more times so we can end this :)
hmm, interesting... (can I do that?)

When MJ said it could end anytime, I was concerned that my original guess was going to be way too high as I WAS anticipating 'some' time to go by to reach that amount. Hence, me adapting my original plan.

Now I need to hope I am lucky with my guesses.

You got 810 in there big guy. If my difference < ipod nano sale price on ebay just add/subtract and I'll cover it. ;)

there is your fastlane principle, folks.

Did you really TAG the Suze thread? Because I don't notice any different tags than the ones I supplied. Don't try to pull a fast one on me.

Are those 12 inch tiles?

Kind of a strange question. Yes, that's my "drop zone" (keys, wallet, change) in the laundry room.

Heh, not strange... 12" w back splash tile would give me another visual representation to calculate the exact diameter of the bowl.

The height is easy from the Klenex box, but the spacial rep was throwing me a bit from the golf ball.

But I already chose, so we won't take it that far... not interested in your counter, sorry to disappoint. ;)

Hmm, for me the challenge was finding the height. The diameter was easy enough via firing up a pixel measuring program and measuring the ratio of the diameter of one of the quarters that was level with the tissue box to the diameter of a quarter that was about in the middle of the bucket. If you then measure the diameter of the bucket (in pixels), multiply that by the ratio calculated earlier, divide that by the number of pixels on a side of the tissue box that was level with the first quarter, and multiply that number finally by the length, in inches, of a side of the tissue box, then you have a nice measure of the bucket.

So now you have the diameter of the bucket, in inches. Estimating the height of the coins was harder because of the angle with which the picture was taken, but I just estimated the level to be about half the height of the tissue box, then threw in an extra half inch for the large amount of change that MJ collects while....hey, there's an idea for a thread. What do you do in a typical day as a retired internet entrepreneur, MJ? Write your book, I suppose? Read long-winded posts by bored teens? Anyway, I then had the diameter and height of a cylindar. I was then able to apply some geometry to calculate the volume, and then guesstimate the density of the collection of coins. I initially had wanted to do a statistical survey of the top layer, but I said w/e and just said 50% quarters, 20% dimes, 20% pennies, and 10% nickels or something of the sort. Anyway, I got a total of something like $310 or something and rounded up to the nearest $5.

Now, if only I had thought to post multiple entries when using a 'brute force' method...
