The MGM Grand in Las Vegas recently laid off nearly 1000 employees. Their 2020 plan calls for increased cash flow to the tune of 200 million annually from digital initiatives. As a resident of Las Vegas you don’t have to look too far to see jobs humans do being replaced by AI, robots and machines. From the self driving Aptiv Lift taxis to the virtual dealers (pictures) or self serving beer taps it is all here. While this shift is unwelcome by bartenders, taxi drivers and dealers there is opportunities in this new shift In this case what happens in vegas doesn’t stay in vegas. AI, robotics, automation and digital/virtualization is coming quickly.
