First page on today's (8/18/2011) USA Today, the extreme couponing craze became news. I actually learned there is a show about it (wow!). I see this as a prime example of the many ways society's sidewalk/slowlane-gravitational-force glorifies the trade-off of time for money. MJ this reminds me of the $6 chicken bucket chapter on your book.
They even make a new folk hero, Nathan Engels, who converted his garage to a warehouse of sorts and states he's lowered his debt a whooping $65,000 !!! But the real treat is USA Today's main line of the article linking the show and the coupon craze to reports of people stealing newspapers !!!
Frankly, I do not understand people.... But then again, I guess that's an important characteristic of the urge that makes people like you and I gravitate to seek more and expect more knowing full well there are no free lunches. Go fastlaners!
