Hey Fastlane,
I've come to the forum after about 2 years of not being associated with a business forum, and stuck in social media garbage. I realized I hated all the social media I was following, but couldn't figure out what I gave up...and it was reviewing and learning from car and business forums that I gave up after almost all of the sites I was apart of dried up.
So I'm back after trying a few businesses here and there but nothing really falling into place or feeling right. I finally have a business idea that is flowing together really quickly and now I just want to build it while learning more and experiencing with like minded people.
I'm cutting my 4.5 year international business degree to a 3 year diploma and I also have a 1 year entrepreneurship certificate. I'm completely done being a student, the atmosphere, the repetitive course content and terrible quality of teachers have lead me to shortening my stay and getting out so I can learn in the real world.
Onto business, my family is into real estate which I will be following in the next year but I realized after talking to some very successful mentors that I really need to learn about business by doing something I know well, which is anything in the transportation field, cars, trucks and boats. Over the years I've jumped into different industries but auto has always been a passion. So I redirected my energy and now have a meeting with the engineering shop at my college to start building a variety of truck parts based on the Toyota Tacoma.
I have 2 months before my full time++++ summer job starts which I am happy to have and am contracted in for a few years. Because of this it's crunch time for the next little bit, engineering starts first week of March, production starts second week followed by more engineering and more production. I should have some parts listed on the website and then try to balance new product R/D, production my job and procurement over the summer. Right now, I'm looking into what website platform to use (shopify etc) and a business name I'm trying to straighten out.
Anyways, I can't wait to say bye bye to social media feeds and getting onto the fast lane.
