I've noticed recently with stuff I've been buying on eBay, the sellers are illegally charging sales tax. There is no way these sellers are registered in my state to collect tax. Its a sleazy way to try to make another 5% to 10%. It better not be any of you!!

Are you sure its the sellers? And not eBay automatically adding it? When I print books and mail to different states, my POD printer is adding tax on nearly 1/2 the states.

Lot's of the states have passed laws to collect sales tax based off BUYERS location, and not based off the federal "physical presence" laws.

Internet Sales Tax: A 50-State Guide to State Laws

My state charges sales tax from all online retailers selling in the state, regardless of physical presence in the state or not, if the online retailer does more than $100,000 gross yearly. (State sales tax only. Excludes county and municipality)
