There’s a lot of ecom success stories on here, not many dropshipping success stories.

All of the things that make dropshipping a little bit easier, also make it a lot harder.

Pros:
No need to handle logistics
No need to hold stock
No need to invent anything new
Can test a lot of products in a short amount of time

Cons:
Everyone can steal your content and ads
Anyone can sell your product
Product quality is an issue
Shipping times are an issue
You end up competing on price
Trust and branding are an issue
Repeat customers and referrals are non existent
Cannot really sell the business

Drop shipping is good for testing products and niches but I would only do it until I found a winner and then work on building a brand.

If you have your own product with branding
No one can steal your content
No one can sell the same product
Shipping times can be fast
Price can be increased
Costs can be reduced in some cases by bulk buying
You can build a brand and get referrals, seo, forum mentions etc
Trust is increased
You can sell the business

It going to be much easier to find “winning ads” and have a profitable business if your product is better, you costs are lower, your prices are higher, your website more trust worthy, your shipping times shorter, you’re getting referrals, repeat sales and seo and no one else can sell the same product.
