For me, all income goes through my automatic investment flowchart. Income enters at the top, gets split into three portfolios, two of which are different classes of investments, and third is a low-risk holding tank for money I'll be spending on myself (I "save" for stuff I want).
I basically arrange my investments so that I will not lose, and I try to automate the non-discretionary investing processes as far as possible.
