I don't watch TV much, but I did catch the Gold Rush Alaska show on Discovery the other day and I must say that it's a very good display of "process vs. event" and all of the obstacles that must be overcome and all of the testing, feedback and change of direction that takes place in being an entrepreneur.
On the third episode, one of the miner's wife & kid comes to visit after a month and asks "Have you found any gold yet?" Haha. It's a process!
First, they have to travel 2000 miles to get to the site, once they arrive they have to prepare the ground for their base camp, then secure the area, befriend successful miner and neighbor, build shelter, find food and water, map out and plan where to dig, dig test-holes, seek advice on how to assemble the mining machines from successful miner, assemble the machines, test the machines, dig test holes, etc. etc. etc.
Have we found any gold yet!? Ha!
