I like it. The pictures could be a little better but overall its good. I suggest taking out "Free Delivery" and adding Weezy or other keywords. eBay gives you 80 characters for the title. It is best to use words people search for so you show in their results.

Why do you only have one listing? The more listings you have, the more exposure you get. Make 4 different listings for the 4 different types. ALSO, make some pure auctions so that you always have one ending soon. While you can only have one listing that allows BIN per product, you can up to 7 (need to check that) auctions.

What about the different OS's? Like this guy

CD's sound like a good way to get some sales. The more sales you have with good ratings, the higher your listing will show in results.

Thanks for the pointers Mike :)

What about the different OS's?
I've yet to play around with the different disrtos, but will certainly offer them once I've got the hang of them!

So far the single listing of everything bundled together made nothing. Perhaps I should leave bundling until I've got a larger inventory (assuming I can sell these test samples!) and stick with the single listings for now.

I think for my next test I need to:
  • Stagger the listings to take advantage of the end times.
  • Add a couple of the listings as auctions to grab some of the bargain hunters and funnel them into the higher products if possible.
  • Give the CD's a go!
  • Investigate the possibility of an SD card, USB card reader & CD/Flash drive combo-starter pack...

The non-sale of these listings could be early warning signs though. This entire idea could be null and void beacuse of the overall "cheaper" Pi market, but I can't rule it out until I've exhauseted all realisticly possible avenues on this venture.

Ironically, I've been making more money fixing electronics for other people & fixing up electronics to sell! Though I've been a bit inspired by these guys in the states as there isn't something quite as slick in the UK/Europe... so watch this space ;)

I'll let you guys know when the next round of listings are up :)

It's My Birthday! ...and more updates :)

It's my Birthday!

24 and sat infront of my employer's computer screen, watching my programs do my work for me & looking busy. Whilst all that's going on in the background, I've been busy (still!) putting things together to turn this into a fully fledged business entity. I am now the proud owner of Augmensis Technologies Limited, a specialist product development and international procurement company based in the UK :p

On top of that, I've been working on adding to my Raspberry Pi product line and netowrking to get my foot in the door to supply schools. It's insane how fast everything seems to be moving! Next up is the development of an online shopping cart for a "Trading As" company, under the the umbrella of Augmensis, to get to grips with ecommerce before expanding into the fastlane with a seperate distribution & training business in the early stages of development (more about that later ;))

This is so much fun! I love the constant challenge and knowledge I've been gaining throughout the whole process and really enjoy the fact that the community here on FLF is so supportive.

Here's to the first million :)

Cheers!

Its been around 6 weeks since my last post, and I think I've got a rather nice update for you guys today. So I'm sat here with a very nice 2008 Rioja whilst I type, after what feels like a very short and extremely busy few weeks!

I've hired a friend to do some product photos, build a website and design a new logo for me; I've gotten my accounting software up and running and in the process of being fine tuned by a local accountant (lovely lady); I've expanded research into fully operational operating systems on USB sticks (instead of plain old LIVE CDs); I'm currently developing a kit for the Raspberry Pi, specifically targeting schools and the teen / pre-teen market (more on that another day... I think you're going to like it!); I've been building relationships with a school supply company that my current employer absorbed; I applied and got rejected for a couple of different jobs internally; I had the HR Director apologise for MY application rejections (3rd application for another job turned down or lost by HR); Now I've been promised a casual "Coffee" with one of the HR Heads to discuss my career with said employer... most likely creating a new job just for yours truly! (To expand, they were impressed with my innovations that could have made £750k+ from nothing but their existing customer base, using a subscription model instead of the current FREE offer. For a £511K sales target selling promotional space, adding £750k to the otherwise under-performing department was certainly a positive. I lost due to lack of commercial sales experience. YAY.); Also had a meeting with a chap from UKTI (UK Trade & Investment), a government organisation whose sole purpose is to encourage exports from, and investments into, the UK. He came round to talk about exports and my needs as a very small business. As luck would have it, he couldn't help me... but has gone away to see what useful info he can send to me via all of the other businesses in the region currently exporting. It's all fun and games :)

Fast forward to the end of the year? I aim to have completed the following steps to take me further:
- Complete Augmensis Technology Group Limited - HOME & make live for commercial queries and presence.
- Work with photographer to complete touch-up of product photos.
- Find Import/export tax & operations specialist to help me put systems in order.
- Work with DHL to organise accounts for Import/Export.
- Chase UKTI for what info (if any) they are able to send my way.
- Develop Raspberry Pi Kit Prototype (x20) built.
- Soften up leads with education suppliers and the Raspberry Pi community with previews & preliminary testing of the kit.

If all goes well, I should be able to shift a few thousand units in Q3 of next year to build up some cashflow and play with business.

I love this game :)

Hope everyone else is having as much fun on their adventures!

Wow! Whilst everything's been going on in the background to build a product for the education sector, I brought another product to market.

This time its a power supply for the Raspberry Pi... with a built in switch! The first listing I put up for BIN £9.99 didn't sell. So I put up a second listing afterwards for BIN £12.99, before adding another listing for a second identical product @ 99p for auction. Within a few hours, the 12.99 listing sold, followed by 20 or so watchers on the 99p auction and a final price of £12.50! Then the best part... three people have emailed me since, asking if there are any more coming! YAY!

Should hopefully have a few more up tonight and tomorrow and integrate it to cross promote my SD cards. Its not fastlane, but its still good fun and CRM practice.

Looks like its a nice Xmas in the Dezzamondo household this year :p
