Okay- so we're 6 days into December so far! What's your plan for this month? What action will you have accomplished by 12/31?

Here's what I've done so far this month (real estate related):

1. Rewrote offer on 7 cabins.
2. Hired another cleaning lady for cabins.
3. Met with one Meth'd out cleaning lady (didn't hire her, but was an interesting 30 minutes spent!)
4. Working with Aptohosting to begin website tranformation and automation.
5. Met with accountant.
6. Applied for CRS number and business license.
7. Had 4 meetings with WildAmbitions about goals, actions and direction we are heading- as well as admin stuff.
8. Looked at a REO 4 plex, and 4 acres...but will pass, as this does not fit my plan :)
9. Emailed Lazy Penguin about artwork design for souveniers.
10. Met with potential cashflow player for coffee- not going to work out but not time wasted either.

What will get done is:
1. Website under construction with Apto.
2. Snow plower lined up.
3. Some sort of automated/online checklist/ communication with housekeepers.
4.Research WildAmbitions amazing idea from last night- with some sort of action plan to be developed by end of month.
5. Set up online bank transfers for cleaning ladies.
6. Meet with accountant again and be able to take over the books myself.
7. Move forward with DD if necessary on cabins.

(Non real estate related, but part of core values)
1. Sign up for flying lessons.
2. Go roller skating at least 3 times.
3. Cook at least 5 meals that seem "hard"
4. Run a total of 15 miles.

Carpe Diem!

+Get windows fixed (on rental property) - started
+Take a breather on the rentals - no more upgrades/improvements this month (after windows) and pray for no more hiccups
+Finish Burge's book (today or tomorrow) and start Vollucci's book on 17th
+Tear apart our last three months financial expenditures (wife and I have been spending too much since she went back to work - need to smarten up. Although, it has been fun!)
+Begin Russ' Business plan exercises - we do have some of our personal goals figured out (did this last year with my wife, but have to review and upgrade)
+Try very very hard not to buy an iMac (it's a very large big fat want)
+Begin a proper business plan outline - to be made into a concrete plan in January
+Quit my job (if I don't do it by the end of this month, then by mid-January for sure) - is quitting a job a goal, or like an "anti-goal" - just seems funny to me.
+sign mortgage documents for the rental property, pending final approval (quitting job is dependent on funds in our account)
+Hang out with the parents next week (they're visiting) - convince them to come aboard as investors when we find our next property (shouldn't be too hard)
+relax and reflect for the holidays
+Come up with a better/stronger/faster set of goals for January based on business plan outline

Is it just me or are my goals a bit on the weak side?

Dave

I think you're goals are great. I especially like the one about quitting your job! :hurray:

...All of the goals you have listed will reap you huge results in your life if you implement them. Sometimes it's tweeking our goals here and there that make the biggest difference. Spending less and writing a BP are huge. ...If you goals still feel too small for you, you could always add a big one in there. :)

Thanks for the vote of confidence!

The one goal I'm going to have the most trouble with is, "Try very very hard not to buy an iMac." If I break down, I'll have to work until the end of January for sure.

.... Unless I take on the paper route as advertised in the paper this week, then I can make it work...

hmmmm. paper route... good exercise, fresh air, and I'd get to buy an iMac.... it's cold though, and I'd have to get up at 5:00am every day. Decisions decisions decisions. Is a paper route fast lane? hmmmmm... How could I make a paper route fast lane? Maybe if I bought a bike or skis for the winter?

I must be tired.

Dave

PS: I just wanted to mention, I love reading your posts the most on the forum. Whenever I see that you've posted something, I always check it out.

This has probably been the most productive month of 2007 for me!

1.) I finished editing my book
2.) I launched the ebook's site
3.) I've developed the blog that goes along with the ebook
4.) I now need to do some final touches on the book's site and then I'm completely finished with this venture.
5.) Look into my local real estate investment club and my future/second web venture which might be involved in affiliate marketing.
