Search for all the times this has been discussed before.

Programmers program, they don't really have an interest in stealing ideas and trying to market them themselves. I have an iPhone and an Android app, I just found a service provider, gave them specs and got busy marketing. As soon as it hits the market there will a dozen copycat apps created as well if your app is decent anyway, so quit worrying about the programmer stealing it.
