I recently began to search for a business idea i could run from home with little budget and stumbled upon this: first aid training services. The fact is that i work as a lifeguard my self so i already have my certification and would only have to get a teaching certificate. To start up i will need approx 6k to buy the equipment,insurance,... Then renting a room to teach would cost me like 100$-200$ a weekend. A course takes 16 hours to teach so 2 days from 9 to 5. I would to this on weekends. I can teach up to 18 persons per group and because ill start up just by myself my limit is 1 group per weekend (i go to college too). Buyings books to the 18 persons will cost me 450$ too and this will have to be done for each group.
Now to the profit, the course cost approx 120-140$ per person so for a group of 18 people i would generate at least 2.1k. Now you have to take away renting and books costs from this and i will generate almost 1.5-1.6K every weekend. So per month if i can have full groups every weekend i will do minimum 6k. After a month i will have erased my startup cost. Theres also an opportunity to scale if i find another location and hire a teacher at 20$/hour. Will cost me 1.3k a month for salary so ill still make 4.8-5k additional profit. The more location i open up the more money ill make. The only problem would be a competitor who have been on the market for a longtime and has a really good reputation but charges a lot (its there i took my course xD). I also plan on marketing and opening a site.
do you think this idea is achievable ? Sorry for my english im from quebec haha !
