If this is an obvious question please let me know and if it isn't let me know too.

Just a little background: I'm trying to grow a business for exchange students. I have my facebook page (note, it's a PAGE, not a group, that's a bit relevant to the question since the posts to page don't show up on the feed directly, only the things I post) it's currently at 425 followers.

I've just had someone post to MY page to market an event like one I've tried to do but didn't quite work -full story here- This person does not look like an exchange student, it is a grown woman and it also says "self-employed". Sounds entreprenurial enough to me. lol.

Should I let this happen or just delete her post?

Personally @BellaPippin I'd remove it. Kudos to her for doing research to find like-minded pages and relevant audiences, but she's essentially piggybacking off your hard work.

Having said that though I'd also drop her message as it looks like you two could be useful to each other if you're working in similar fields. Just tell her that you're trying to keep your page informative and so that's the reason why you removed the post. If she's at all business savvy and thinks your audience is worth marketing to then there's a chance that she might even pay for you to promote a post on your page (though this may be more of a future thing as people tend to want to have a few thousand fans from my experience before they're wiling to pay.

Good point.

Just been catching up on your other thread.. I'd stalk the hell of the woman (not literally obviously..). If she's doing a similar thing and it looks like it is working well for her then take a closer look at all the ways she's marketing it, laying her website out etc... you might find some gems of knowledge and gaps she's missing that you could fill!

Change the settings on your FB page to allow only you to post to your wall. If I allowed the 140,000+ folks on my page to post at-will, the page would turn into a shit-show of spam, promotion, political BS, work-at-home schemes, blah blah.

I let everybody post on my wall but auto-hide everything using the word filter. Then I go through the posts and comments once a day (I get a lot) and only unhide the positive ones. Sometimes people comment stuff like "where are all the comments??". But those never reach the public :blackalien:.

Won't let my sales be ruined by the typical FB idiot :).

How are things coming along @BellaPippin ?

Any luck fixing the issue?
