We all know the old saying, "Beggars can't be choosers", but seldom discuss what it means to be a "chooser".
Choosers can't be beggars. You can't have your cake and eat it too, either your are someone who makes the tough calls and inspires others to take action, or you are a beggar who is helpless.
If you feel helpless, then it's time to look at what is making you feel that way and make choices to have more control. Don't beg somebody else, or worse, the government, to help you. They won't care unless there's something in it for them.
You can't blame the choosers for not helping the beggars. But if you're claiming to be the chooser, then don't sit back and complain when you don't get what you want.
Just modify and adjust.
