If you read my intro thread, then you probably know I made some bad investments in the past (Facebook, although they had good quarter earning today). I've been saving up a ton of cash for a while now, I'm at about $20,000 and will soon be at $25,000 just sitting in my investment account, but it's not invested.
I wanted to ask a couple of things.
1) What are some good places to stash money while I educate myself more into the stock/investment world?
I recenetly saw MJ D Marco's post a while ago stating
Are those still good to just drop cash in for the mean time MJ?
2) What resources did you use to learn your investment strategies from? I've read books on what each type of investment are, but haven't really read much on great strategies... I don't want to fall victim to the advice they pump via TV and some popular blogs.
3) At my current place of work, my 401k takes 10% of my check at the moment and they'll match up 6%. I was thinking of dropping my 401k to just hit the amount they match at 6% or just drop it to 0, and invest that money in my personal investors account? Thoughts and opinions?
