Hi everyone, currently reading Unscripted , and new to this forum and terrible at writing so please forgive me!
About me
23yo female that's always been ambitious growing up. I've never been scared to leave a comfort zone to seek better things. After 12th grade I moved overseas to live with my father as the plan was that I study there, (my parents are divorced and my father is well off financially, I've always suffered growing up with my mom) I would describe my life at the time as being comfortable, never needed to stress about money, which was strange as this was a constant stressor, but despite that I wasn't happy. I felt like I needed to be independent and make my own money, basically, I wanted freedom. So I started researching online and somehow came across an article that mentioned the amount of money strippers make. I don't know WHAT came across me, but I emailed them and applied online. (I will add that I never had a boyfriend or any experience with men and I was EXTREMELY shy and awkward) Anyhow I did that for a year until I met my first boyfriend, who I'm still with and I've been living a VERY comfortable life, he supports me financially. I felt I lost that ambitious go-getter girl I used to be when I was younger, I think it is largely due to me not really needing anything, however over the years I started feeling this urgency to do something for myself because I want to be financially independent.
This urgency of wanting to do something, but not knowing what to do made me depressed. What made it worse was the fact that he started getting serious with work, and I could see how happy it made him. He works for his dad and also has his own company. He was progressing at such a fast rate under the guidance of his father, and though I was happy for him, it kind of made me frantic, so I decided to apply to study, doing this was both me occupying my time and to prove that I wasn't dumb. Despite not picking up a book in 4 years, I was at the top of my class which were a bunch of fresh high school graduates, I studied really hard and did exceptionally well in the exams - top 5 in the country! I dropped out a month before the last semester.
That was 2 years ago. This year I decided I wanted to give it another shot, but study online, WORST decision. I don't know why, but I think attending actual lectures just works best for me. I had this idea that I would use studying as a tool to help my business, constantly apply everything I learn to my own business, so I will give university another shot. Until then, I just want to grow my business and start making money.

2 years ago I came up with a nifty little solution to a problem I had, I searched online to find such a product but wasn't able to find it. Then I went onto Alibaba and found it! I ordered some samples, then got an agency to do the logo and packaging, it took way longer than expected due to me studying and not being on top of the designer. I found someone on Upwork that's currently doing my website and thinking of hiring someone else to help me with a marketing strategy. My plan as of now is do courses on coursera/udemy that provide me with more knowledge on certain topics, so even though I plan on hiring someone to do my marketing plan, I will be learning as well.
This is my first time ever posting to a forum, I'm not a good writer, and I'm very scatterbrained, so things might not exactly 'flow' if anyone has any advice on how to be more cohesive, please fill me in! Also - what are your thoughts on hiring a business mentor? I feel like it would be nice to have some guidance from someone who has been down this road.
I look forward to interacting with all of you!
