In my recent college orientation (I'm a freshie), the CEO herself started talking on how Pokemon Go is banned in college. She kept talking on how PoGo is an addiction and wastes time.
I agree with her. Heck, five minutes is good time to spend with Fastlaners learning from them. But for the first time in history since the Wii, sports and gaming can be morphed together. No one will have an excuse ever not to get fit and healthy. The unhealthy fatso gamer will be a myth, if the trend carries on.
Consider that a free idea
I believe that when people run away from 'terrible' ideas like PoGo, AirBnb (hotellers are complaining on competition), Grabcar ( in my country, taxidrivers are mobbing and getting rough), there will be those who will march in and capture land, claiming new wealth and freedom. They are the ones who will turn shit into gold, or even pull gold out of a blackhole (can it be done?).
What people think is useless can be transformed into gold. To provide value.
Skirmishers. The frontliners on the battlefield. They weed out trouble and provide new frontiers for entrepreneurs to blossom and provide value to the masses.
We Fastlaners are skirmishers. Shells of criticism explode around us. The bullets of failure rattle, some slamming in the chests of our compatriots. The taunts and jeers of the foes who watch eagerly, hoping to see us fall. But skirmishers march on, their guns blazing, their bayonets fitted at the ready, their cries overwhelming. We march on.
I've my share of trouble. So many people have told me I would be better off fitting in normalcy or 'balance'-in their version, a 9-5 job, a steady paycheck. I believe that if you stay there for that nice cushy job, a mortar strike will take you off in the form of an economic downturn or corporate crisis. We have to move forward. To become a Fastlane Skirmisher.
I have no Plan B. I plan to work this thing out until I am free. I must reach the hilltop of liberty, to plant the flag of triumph that cries, "I did it! The Fastlane works!" My girl is waiting for me to pull her out from the slowlane. I need to move on.
