Anybody into Cornhole?
My company is throwing its first cannabis Cornhole tournament on Nov. 11. I set it up like a poker tourney with top three cash prizes ($750 prize pool), max 24 2 player teams with double elimination brackets. In my area there is a developed Cornhole culture that I'm marketing too as well to the cannabis industry. Have 6 of 9 vendor spots moved which is great to have a open secondary $ flow.
My biggest issue is control as I have two different partners that are cut in, one with the tournament facilitator and the other with the venue. They are great to work with but with too many hands in the pie, profit potential is greatly cut and decision making is slower as need to have talks. In future, I can replace both as can figure how to run the tournament, acquire the boards, and rent the space versus going in as a cut or even get my own venue as it's cheap to rent in my city and going that direction for my music and cannabis events anyway.
I bought two trophies off Etsy (my first experience with Etsy) and can see a market for custom boards and other thing related to Cornhole.
