Hello from PA.
Been lurking around this forum for a while. I am 2/3 to the end of finishing TMF . For the past month, I spent almost all my free time, and a lot of my indentured time (lucky me--job allows), simply learning. I understand that I should focus all of my indentured time into this, but I simply can't and I believe I can do it with my current job and the amount of free time I have.
Positives:
+I learned how to use wordpress and create professional looking websites. I have one up right now that I think has potential with the right marketing.
-I also learned the basics of photoshop and creating basic graphics/logos.
+Marketing
-Start slow and focus on one niche.
-Create good content
-Focusing on marketing from this post on...
+Elance
-My current niche is a pretty complex website that I outsourced on elance and is in the works. (Could relate to my current site that I have up)
-Found someone on elance that is more of a "manager" with a background in marketing. (Googled)
+Saw this "manager" outsourcing to other freelancers to do parts of my project. (Googled)
-Is this a negative? Or a positive?
+I'm already a few hundred in this project. Will stay with it as long as I can see the work done ahead of my payments. (Gut feeling that it will succeed)
Negatives:
+Every friend, family member, coworker I try to get involved in learning with me, simply fails.
-Not much support
Everytime my motivation goes down, I refer to TMF or this forum--It really goes way back up.
