Hello! I hope this is the right spot to post this. I searched 'Domaining' and related terms to find the best home for this comment but since I'm essentially still a newcomer I suppose I'll post here.

I purchased a domain name for $50 and just received an offer for $4,000 USD.

It's a marketable domain (single word, meaningful & relevant term) in a profitable niche.

I have plans to use the domain in the future. I'm trying to see how much they will offer. Any negotiation tactics are appreciated.

I'd try to find out who the buyer is. Is it a publicly traded company? Or a dude in his basement?
