I would like to introduce myself to this community. I'm a husband and father of 1 from Houston Texas. Ever since I hit 30 I felt like the Entrepreneurial bug bit me. It started with personal finance then after reading more and more business books I realized that owning my own business is the way to go. Having control of my future is very important to me. I have dreams and goals in life, and I cannot accomplish these by working for someone els the rest of my life. When I look around the industry that I'm in, there's not a lot of people that I admire or aspire to be like. They might make ok money but work crazy hours and/or are away from home for long periods at a time.
I know I have to make a change now before I'm stuck in the rat race for the next 30 years.
I want to say thanks to MJ DeMarco for TMFL. This book was on my reading list for about 6 months. I finally ordered it after hearing more and more people referencing it. I devoured it, reading it faster than any other book I have ever read. This book hit on so many point that I already felt were true but yet the concepts were systemized and made logical sense. I underlined almost all of it, and I'm looking forward to reading it again to get the systems and defenitions memorized. Having this forum is also great, I'm still learning it. I look forward to connecting and learning from the fastlaners here.
I currently have a business that I'm growing. I will talk more about this in the progress thread I will start. In short it's an online clothing store that my wife and I started. We have a Shopify site and also sell on Facebook and eBay.
