Hi everyone!
I live with my family (2 kids) near Christchurch, it's been fun to experience the more pronounced seasons and (at the moment) snow in the Southern Hemisphere.
A new mortgage is inspiring some mental processes following years of "sort of but not quite" comfortable employment as a developer (I like coding at my job however the salaries in New Zealand are closer to levels in Europe and nowhere near the US) and I've been reframing my thinking from "what can I sell" to "where can I help/provide value". It helped to realise that you don't need to be the best in a certain area to be able to provide value, and there is demand at various levels of "expertise".
Being still stuck for ideas I could persist with, I had another interesting insight going into the weekend - I can practice the skill of actively doing by starting with the people closest to me
I am helping organise for my partner to experience a hobby she is interested in, and I will help my kids by coming up with some creative/interesting ideas for the weekend - cooking together, make new friends at the playground, explore the area around us, draw or make some music.
It's also been helpful to read posts in this forum
Thanks,
Vlad
