Good day members. I have been seeing and hearing about a certain problem for long enough now and I think it's time I take it into consideration and just jump on it, while simultaneously working on my software development skills. It's a great opportunity I think.
So, I have been hearing my neighbor, whom she and his friends own rental apartments. My neighbor has built rooms in her yard, and she rents them out. So, I can't help but notice that her tenants never last for more than 5 months. And she finds it hard to find lasting tenants. And I eavesdropped a conversation of her and her friends who are in this property business, about an issue of finding reliable tenants. Contrary to this, I'm on a Facebook group specifically for our community, and I often scroll through posts about individuals looking for safe and well-established rooms to rent.
Now, I noticed this could be an opportunity to build NEGOTIATION. For a 20-year-old living with his mom, negotiations could be of the best and crucial skills I can add to my skillset magazine to better myself and move a needle in my life.
Here, I will negotiate and connect property owners/landlords and potential reliable tenants. I know this is some type of real estate agent duty. But for me, it seems the landlords in my area are struggling to find great tenants and vice versa. I will negotiate for a landlord who have unoccupied rooms to rent and charge a fee.
I am also considering making a website where landlords can list their property for a fee. And seek potential tenants who are looking for a place to reside for at least longer.
As the first step for this, I will go ten houses down road, where there's also a woman who has student accommodation for students, currently furnishing it, I will try and talk to her and let her know I can bring her tenants, since I have some friends who are studying at University of Johannesburg, I can talk to them and connect with potential students looking for a space to reside.
I will take this step not by the end of this week. I will come back and update. Little bit scary and quite a challenge for an introvert like me though, but I have nothing to lose and currently have no income since I lost a big chunk of my savings through Forex Trading. This would be a great challenge.
Please give me feedback.
