I started investing in forex earlier this late on a tip from a friend. I started researching on my own about the foreign trade, educaiting myself, etc. Then I came across a forum led by a "guru". He had a normal section where people could contribute and then he had another section for VIPs. I joined the VIP section and figured I didn't have much to lose. To get into VIP it cost $100 or something like that.
Recently the guru started promoting off-shore accounts for the investment through a Nevada LLC and an accountant he found. I don't know a lot about off shore account plus the person promoting the off-shore account was an ex accountant who used to live in Caifornia but now lives in Texas. Also, he is not registered as a Texas accountant. The accountant was charging money for the Nevada LLC at a reasonable price as well as the off-shore account. Very little information was posted on the LLC website. All information about the off-shore account was over a webinair.
I was curious about the off-shore account but didn't feel like spending more money just to set it up especially since the foreign trade hadn't really apreciated. So I decided to start a discussion on what people were planning to invest in if they weren't going to invest in the off-shore account. Immediately I had another person agree with me about investing in other areas. Then the guru chimed in. He said he was tired of people trying to split the group into the off shore account group and the non off-shore account group. He said if he heard anymore of this he would ban that person from the group. Then he locked that message so nobody could repond to that post again.
To me it seemed like the guru was running a scam. He took offense for me posting something to do with MY money and not following HIS off-shore plan. What do you think?
