Was reading Millionaire Fastlane and then Unscripted when my pay was cut by 75k. I have been working short-staffed for three years, reducing my productivity which with the pandemic has taken 1/3 of my income. I'm ready to move on.

I'm a doctor too!!
A bit exasperated by clinical medicine at this point.
Please keep us updated, and welcome!

Why not.
Still slowlane, but I'm open to non-clinical considerations at this point.

Any ideas for what's next?

The one other skill I have that is marketable is teaching test-taking strategies/study habits for struggling students. I am starting to explore how to market this.

The customer base for that product doesn't have any money.

I'd keep brainstorming.

You'd be suprised.
There's no reason why he can't turn that into a book or youtube channel.
Where I am, the helping-ppl-get-ahead-academically is a HUGE industry.

I'm hearing this a lot, and have first hand experience.

The SO is a nurse, her medical company tried to take 33% of her pay.

I told her to tell 'em to F-off. She did.

Funny, when her company makes a ton of money, they don't say "Hey, here's a bonus on the great year we've had!" And yet, when they need to cut costs, they want employees to take a hair cut? No FN way.

She isn't an investor, a shareholder, or a bondholder and she didn't sign up to take part in company financial issues, if she did, she would have bought their stock.

I'm seeing this a lot and its a great example on how the virus has been weaponized for other purposes.

Good luck going forward.

But when you aren’t committed to any business idea, and can choose “sell to struggling students” or “sell to people who can drop $4k on a whim” and everything in between... I’m not sure why you’d aim for the bottom of the spectrum. Unless there was a very compelling reason to do so.

Because it's within his knowledge spectrum.
Its very difficult to start a business in an industry you know nothing about, especially as a first time entrepreneur.
I'm not saying he has to STAY in the industry, but if you're familiar with it, its a good starting point to learn the ropes.

I would say to focus on the medicine you know since that is a very unique skill that is highly valuable. The teaching strategy can be tought by a student counselor who might bee free for the strugling students at the university.

Currently I'm in med-school but when I started I knew I wanted to open a business and would absolutly not work with medicine at a hospital or general clinic, so I guess for many years I have been seeing the med-field with a different lens and might have some insight in business for MD's.

First if you can tell your interests, skills etc, what you know and what you like I could help with a little bit of brain storming since it helps me aswell expand the business MD field.

Example if you have experience with general practice, you could open a consultant firm that specialise in work related security during the Corona crisis to get the ball going. Work with companies and inform them about the virus and if what they do is enough to guarantee the saftey of their workers.

You could also open an online clinic where people who are too afraid to go to a regular clinic can turn to.

There are endless posibilities. For instance I like dermatology and the beauty industry aswell with functional medicine. I'm opening an advanced beauty clinic shortly (after the corona crisis) and am also looking on the possibility on opening a skincare brand and sell it through amazon.
I really take an advice a surgeon of mine told me who was "There are alot of good doctors out there but very few who can also run a business". He owns clinics all across europe.

But if I was you, I would focus on medicine and expand from there. If you want to play around with theacing strategies, you could make a youtube channel for fun who might bring a supplementary income.

What happened after she told them to f-off? They backtracked?
