Yesterday, I posted our photo-to-coloring-page service on Hacker News under the "Show HN" topic, and it went viral – we received 6,000 visitors in a single day. At its peak, there were over 2,000 visitors per hour. Since our service relies heavily on cloud computing, this exceeded the number of users we could handle. To keep the service running, we had to limit the number of attempts each user was allowed temporarily.

I've made a few posts on Hacker News before, but none of them gained traction like this one did. This time, I got lucky. For those curious, here's the link to Hacker News. Look for a post titled: Creating custom coloring pages from photos. Great for parents/teachers (portraitart.app)

I guess that's the reality of marketing. You never know which effort will work, but you just have to keep pushing.

I like your idea? Did you come with yourself or seen somewhere?

EDIT: I see it's on Etsy already
