Hello, my name is John, from Beckley, West Virginia. I joined this forum probably well over a year ago now, after having read the infamous book, that at the time had a profound impact on my views on.. Well everything, really.
I set out to find the "perfect" plan to escape the monotony of the 9-to-5, and liberate myself from my lousy job as a Product Technician for a furniture & appliance store.
I read, and re-read TMF , over, and over, until I could practically recite a given paragraph. I suppose that was wishful thinking, as though the comfort of KNOWING a plan would be as effective as having one.
I have a wife as of one year in May, and three children whom I still daydream of giving the world to.
About that, though.. More than a year after the eye-opener that is TMF , I have yet to actually do much of anything towards progression. I have combed this forum almost religiously, and learned some amazing things from the exceptional people that have made it happen.
I just don't feel very confident in possessing any skills, yet alone skills that might provide value to others. I can work on computer hardware fairly well, but software/programming, etc. simply intimidates the hell out of me.
Anyways, after lurking for such a long time, I figured an introduction might be a step in the right direction. Thank you, folks.
