Hey everyone, I've been lurking for a while on this forum sponging up the advice of heavy hitters like biophase (I've read his entire latest ecommerce thread, and plan on re-reading it today. Truly a hugely valuable resource), and of course, MJ DeMarco (I read the Millionaire Fastlane when I was 16, I want to reread it as well) and have always wanted to be an entrepreneur - probably because I always felt that it made no sense my parents and role models were telling me to go to college if I wanted to live in big houses, have fancy cars, etc.
The thing is, I don't want the material benefits of being wealthy (or, stinking rich - whatever you prefer), as the most important thing to me is that I'm in control of my time. I want to make enough money to retire young, and spend my time - free from the rat race of corporate America - doing whatever I please, whether it be travelling the world, volunteering, learning martial arts... whatever I want.
Back on track, I realize that The Millionaire Fastlane confirmed everything I knew - people who follow the traditional path get traditional results - 40-60 work weeks, average salaries, little control of their lives, and worst of all, become so set in their ways, some truly believe they could never be their own boss or an entrepreneur.
I realize that I have a huge advantage in being so young when I realized this, and I live at home so I have no expenses. I've decided to foray into the scary (to me, anyways) world of e-com, sourcing products from Alibaba (specifically, 4 seperate items and packinging that, upon arrival, I will package together and sell as one product) and re-selling on Amazon, as well as including a link to a website I'll create for myself to try and drive sales between both channels.
I'm going to have a lot of questions, and I can't offer many answers. What I can offer is my gratitude, my enthusiasm, and my mistakes along the way. Thanks to all of you for being here on this forum, and thanks in advance for welcoming me!
