Very nice. I think I'm going to rework a few things with #1 in mind.

I've been looking at a bunch of sites and the ones I'm most impressed with always had a certain "something" that I couldn't put my thumb on. I think #1 is a big part of it. Instead of just telling the message direct, a lot of their site embodies it, exudes it.

The "choice paralysis" tip is highly relevant. The worst excesses of overzealous marketing are the crowded, text-dense websites that simply try to cram too much onto a page. You're creating a look and feel with your UI as much as you are trying to feed information to your visitors. Keep it balanced with a lot of whitespace and keep it looking clean. Cramped websites are quickly identified as "low-class".
