Had to put this in funnies ...
Found an old book in my office entitled "100 of the Best Internet Stocks to Own for the Long Run". (Copyright 1999) I remember getting it as a gift years ago from my mother.
I thumbed thru the book and I'd guesstimate that 95% of the companies listed are DEFUNCT, IN BANKRUPTCY, ACQUIRED, no longer exist, or have lost 80% of their value. Cisco, Ebay and Yahoo are the only 3 I noticed that still are around and as you know, the returns on those stocks haven't been stellar.
I wonder how long the original authors thought these companies would be around since the title says "for the Long Run". I guess about 3 years?
