Hey guys,
I am not a car guy, nor am I (heavily) materialistic. I like nice things of course but I would never splash money on expensive clothes, watches etc. I really can't be bothered about that. Freedom & family are the things I've been optimising for in life.
There has been something something on my mind recently though....
I kind of fell in love with this Ferrari Roma in the bright red 'Ferrari' color.
(I don't know whether this is a smart purchase in terms of depreciation, what type of engine specs the car has etc. I don't really care about that to be honest.)

To justify buying this car I have the following story in my mind: "If I own this car I can join a supercar club. This will bring me in contact with a lot of other succesful business owners, and it will greatly enhance my network".
As I am getting started in real estate development the money I will pay for this car could also go to acquiring a new plot of land to build on, and thus generate income. On the other hand: If I meet people in the supercar club that want to invest with me it could give me a much higher ROI than this plot of land. A good feeder (an LP for those who know development/RE) behind a starting developer can immensely help to grow to bigger developments in a short timeframe.
Reasons to buy
- I can join a supercar club and meet other wealthy business owners, expand my network, and maybe find investors for my future developments
- It is the thing people do after an exit??
- I actually enjoy the idea of driving it
- To me, this car looks very very sexy
- It can open doors
Reasons not to buy
- I spend too much money on a car, while I could also give away that money to people who need it, and change their lives forever. (Maybe even my main reason why I'm doubting. And I'm not talking about first world poor people here, they have enough opportunity to rise out of poverty already.)
- I can use this money to buy a (small) plot of land to start another project and make more money
- I don't 'need' this car.
- I don't want to come across as a superficial guy
--
I can already guess how some people are going to react on this haha. From: "You're a p*ssy, just get the car" to: "Why not save up, and invest more"
Please, I'm really curious about your opinions. Don't hold back!!!!
