Hi @Antifragile (and anyone else reading),I feel personally invested in your success, and not why you'd think.
Your level of action taking is surprisingly high, I am always looking forward to your updates here now. Every post begins with "I did 1, 2 and 3... the response was xyz..." Very impressive, keep going.
The benefit of you finding others doing what you are trying to do means you are in the right circle. Remember, the Agentic AI was born in 2026, so there is a good chance nobody has the 10,000 hours of required experience to be a real "expert" (outside of those who create AI LLMs and have been working in the field for a decade), the rest of us, we are all new to this.
This is why action > thinking.
You are in the right room. Do not sell anything to people like me, it repels. The job is to ask for help in understanding something.
Example dialogue:
You: Hi, my name is Kay and I work full time on AI solutions but have a major issue I am hoping you can help me solve.
Biz 1: Hi Kay, not sure how I can help, I am not in AI.
You: yes, that's actually perfect, I am the AI expert and my questions ironically have nothing to do with AI. You are a business owner and I could use your help with something I find confusing. Recently I spoke to someone about their missed leads calls. They go to voicemail and for some reason many business owners are OK with that loss of new deals. Maybe I am not seeing it from the right perspective. How important is it for you to have a quick connection to a prospective client? High, medium or low? I ask this because I just want to gage if my product is of any use or I should pivot to another product.
Biz 1: well, it depends really. Most calls going to voicemail so I get them later.
You: and what's your conversion rate, best guess, from those voicemails?
Biz 1: I'd be guessing, but it's pretty low.
You: seems logical. I don't want to guess for your business, and probably I am wrong anyway, just thinking as a customer if I call and get through it's the best, but often if I hit voicemail I don't even leave it, I move on to another provider, just go down the google list. Is that different in your business?
Biz 1: no, actually its the same the conversion is low because people don't wait either.
You: See, that's what I need help with - I want to be able to position my product, which is AI that interacts with prospective clients and can actually smart book appointments without needing a human assistant for this task. I want people like you not to lose those leads. Could I ask you for a coffee next week to ask you more questions abour your business?
Biz 1: sure, this is a little interesting but I am quite busy.
You: I respect your time and as a thank you, would make my AI Agent free for you for a month, as a thank you after I customize it to fit your business, it's the least I can do to thank you for your time!
Obvisouly this is 1 out of 100 ways it could go, but the gist is the same - ask for help, offer something for free, make sure you have a way market and test your product. Sales and monetization will come when your MVP is actually delivering the OUTCOME that people want to pay for, as it costs them less than the next best alternative of that OUTCOME.
You absolutely will need to ament your products, redesign, pivot, and on and on... I've never once seen someone hit it right from the start. So your job is to be curious and learn from every interaction on how to imrpove your product. Money will follow when you are finally solving people's problems!
Hope this helps (typed this up in a bit of a rush).
Quick question:
I went to multiple businesses this week mostly sports training facilities where the owner is usually on site. I remembered your advice about testing if anyone is actually willing to pay, so that’s what I’ve been doing.
I walked in, introduced myself, and immediately offered a free 2-week trial. Several owners said “No, not interested.” When I asked if it’s because they already have that area solved, they said yes.
I’m now focusing on offering the free trial both at businesses and at business events (I feel much better about how to interact at events now. Just now I need to know how to interact at their business location).
My main question:
How should I interact and present myself when I get in front of the business owner at their location? How do I increase the chances they say yes to the free trial?
I also have a working MVP demo I can show them in person when I speak to them.
I’d really appreciate any feedback or thoughts from you or anyone else.
