Hi everyone, normally I don't go into much detail about myself on the internet but I really want to grab this opportunity to learn and develop myself.
I am 35 years old and just became a parent to a wonderful son. I have been a lawyer in a niche HR field for over 10 years, working at a big law firm and now in-house at a large multinational. I have been wanting to take control of my own destiny for a while rather than being stuck on a corporate ladder. In addition, while I was OK with slaving away long hours and a long commute when it was just the two of us, I really want to be there for my son. Don't get me wrong, I love hard work, but I don't love being in the office 5 days a week and not being able to bring my kid to school or not seeing them before they got to sleep.
I have an extended parental leave and hope to make the most of it inbetween the hours that our son is awake. I make decent money in my current role, but I realize that I'll be trading away my time with my son for a pretty mediocre life.
At this moment, I am not sure what business to pursue that would suit the CENTS framework. I was thinking about consulting but obviously that would be very dependent on myself and barely scalable. I think perhaps turning my niche into off the shelf products could be a thing to pursue, but I need to think about the value it will add. Anyhow, nice to meet you all and hope to see you around
