Hi there!
I want to use this thread to think through something that happened this year and that I’m still trying to properly understand.
I sold and created a video course project for around 12K EUR.
That is by far the biggest single project I’ve ever sold, and part of me is still like: was this a lucky one-off thing, or is there an actual offer in there?
For context: I’ve been self-employed for years as a 3D jewelry designer and online teacher. I mostly teach Blender, jewelry design and 3D printing workflows through Skillshare and YouTube. Progress thread here.
Earlier this year I worked with a 3D AI software company and created a YT course around their tool.
At first, I was thinking about it too much as “tutorial videos”. I have a tendency to undersell my work, so I need a sparring partner to help me come up with something where I do not exploit myself right from the start.
This is why I used AI quite a lot while shaping the offer, and that helped me ask better questions.
I prompted it with things like:
what can I actually do,
what the company might need,
what assets and experience I already have,
how much time it might take,
what the course could help them achieve,
and how to talk about the value without just calculating my time.
So, in short: How to price the thing.
That made a huge difference for me.
By specifically asking AI (in this case, ChatGPT) about a possible pricing approach, I gained a lot of information and clarity on how to structure the offer. It even came up with a great name for the whole package. It gave useful suggestions on possible add-ons, how to price updates for the course, usage rights etc.
Now I’m wondering whether this could become a repeatable B2B offer.
My niche is quite specific:
Content that helps users go from curiosity to actual success in creating something cool.
The main question currently is:
Can this become a clear repeatable B2B offer?
And if yes, what would be the strongest way to position it from the company side?
Is it customer education?
User onboarding?
Launch content?
Creator success?
Something else?
I already created a pitch & offer that I sent to some 3D&AI software companies. I actually got approached by some others as well, but more for general creator collabs.
So far, this 12K baby seems to be an only child - maybe I'm missing something!
I’d be very interested in thoughts on how to make something like this more repeatable and less like a giant custom monster project every time. Because I have to admit, delivering this was a beast. But I did - and now, where to from here?
