28 Years old PhD research student here! Stumbled across the book and now I'm rethinking my life choices.

Following the asian dream imposed upon me by my peers to become a Dr, but after reading the FastLane Millionaire, I'm realise I'll probably be stuck earning money and trading my weekends for a stress-filled week of research.

I couldn't imagine spending ~6 years in college to get a PhD in anything.
The opportunity cost is so high, especially when you are young, full of energy and have no responsibilities.

You could start an empire.
Or, get a PhD...

Although same can be applied to all fields, doing a PhD in a Tech field might be the most advantageous, as researching a breakthrough could open a massive fastlane road.

Worst still is that because of the pandemic it's been suspended, which is why I finally have the time to start reading on other stuff and realizing all the time I've spent on this already.
Kind of a bummer, but hey better late than never right?

Honestly I was given the choice between Sciences (I'm in immunology and neuroscience now) and programming and there are regrets with not going through with the programming side now because of the sheer utility being involved in tech gives haha
