Hello,
I am interested to soak up more knowledge & deeper understanding about "conscientiousness".

CONSCIENTIOUSNESS : Conscientiousness is a fundamental personality trait—one of the Big Five—that reflects the tendency to be responsible, organized, and hard-working; to be goal-directed; and to adhere to norms and rules. Like the other basic personality traits, it has multiple facets; conscientiousness comprises self-control, industriousness, responsibility, and reliability.

If anyone has knowledge about books related to conscientiousness then I would be deeply grateful if you can share your wisdom & name of the books here.

Thanks,

Best Regards.

As a Man Thinketh will have you reflect deeply about your thoughts. It was a literary essay published in 1903, so it's a short read, with plenty of ways to get it free like through Kindle or PDF.

Thanks for replying.

I already have the paperback version of As a Man Thinketh+Path of Prosperity by James Allen & I must agree that it is one best books that our civilization has produced.
But tbh, I don't see any direct co-relation between conscientiousness & his works.

I am looking for something that delves deep into the topic of conscientiousness.

If Anyone can help, I'll be deeply grateful.

Best Regards.

Discipline Equals Freedom Field Manual, Jocko Willink. Audible repeat.

Doing more things you hate doing for no other reason than learning how to handle it.

Getting roomates. Have them yell at you for being messy.
Then cleaning up after everyone and take no credit for doing so.

I've been lazy and wasteful for most of my existence.
These things are simple but have helped.

1) The Bible, definitely. Not kidding. Even if read in a secular way it will be a net positive.

2) I wrote a thread exactly on the topic of conscientiousness.

Thanks a lot. I had read your thread in the past & it is one of the major force behind my thirst for conscientiousness.
I plan to read bible.
I'll read the thread one more time.

Best Regards.

Also, any scientific writings about willpower.

Just stick with scientifically credible writers, who have reputations in their respective scientific field. Roy Baumeister, Angela Duckworth.

Google Search - Grit Angela Duckworth
I am truly grateful to both of your valuable suggestions, & cannot thank you enough for providing me such rich study material.

Best Regards.

No problem. Yea, even secularly religion appears to have a ton of beneficial effects. I'm personally more on the secular side, so I have a hard time with the more 'miraculous' claims some religious folks make; but there are many Authors that approach religion a way where it's not necessarily required to believe in the more grandiose claims, so you can have the best of both worlds.

From a meta-analysis from the American Journal of Public Health:

"In the majority of studies, religious involvement is correlated with well-being, happiness and life satisfaction, hope and optimism; purpose and meaning in life; higher self esteem; better adaptation to bereavement; greater social support and less loneliness; lower rates of depression and faster recovery from depression; lower rates of depression and faster recovery from depression; lower rates of suicide; less anxiety; less psychosis and fewer psychotic tendencies; lower rates of alcohol and drug use and abuse; less delinquency and criminal activity; greater marital stability and satisfaction... We concluded that for the vast majority of people the apparent benefits of devout religious belief and practice probably outweighs the risk."

Religion, Spirituality, and Health: The Research and Clinical Implications. – (H. G. Koenig, 2012)

I personally like William James, Jordan Peterson, and Marcus Borg. These guys are all hardcore scientist / historian types who believe that religion can be useful for (even secular) personal development purposes.

I believe @Kak (who is one of our most respected members here) has some good books along these lines relating to business success.

Bump for help.

Still looking for a book related with conscientiousness
The Art of Living Consciously
by Dr. Nathaniel Branden

The Art of Living Consciously: The Power of Awareness to Transform Everyday Life: Nathaniel Branden: 9780684838496: Amazon.com: Books

I have this book. If you follow his suggested activities, it's pretty powerful, life-transforming stuff.

Although conscientiousness and consciousness are two different things, the book provided a method for me to be aware of my actions and thoughts, which helped build a more conscientious way of living.

Also, you could dive into some of Dr. Jordan Peterson's lectures for more insight into that personality trait, as well as other aspects of the big 5. He has an entire lecture series on the bible and the inherent meanings and lessons that can be applied to human psychology.

These two are good on the subject of Consciousness as well:

Sam Harris – Waking Up: A Guide to Spirituality Without Religion

Eckhart Tolle – The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

The 7 habits of highly effective people. By Stephen R. Covey
Really good book. I tried to read it years ago and was not able to but read it about 6 months ago and it was great. Highly recommended.
